No. That's one of the things LifeVitals was built to remove. You book directly — no referral, no GP visit first, no approval from anyone. Pick a panel, choose a date and location, and show up. The panels are designed for proactive screening, not diagnosis. You don't need a clinical reason to want to know where your health stands.

Which panel should I start with?

If you've never had a comprehensive blood panel, or haven't had one in more than two years, theEssentials panelis the right place to start. It covers the markers that matter most for your baseline — blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, thyroid, full blood count, and more. If you have a specific concern or family history — cardiovascular disease, hormonal issues, diabetes risk — there are panels designed for those areas specifically. Question 3

I feel completely fine. Do I still need a screening?

That's exactly when screening is most useful. The conditions that develop most quietly — diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, kidney stress, thyroid imbalance — often produce no obvious symptoms for years. By the time you feel them, they're already harder and more expensive to manage. "I feel fine" is not the same as "everything is fine." Feeling fine is just the absence of pain — it says nothing about what your blood markers are doing. Screening tells you what your body is doingbeforeit starts announcing problems.

Where can I get my blood drawn?

You have two options. You can visit one of our partner collection centres at a time that suits you — no waiting room, no walk-in queue, your slot is pre-booked. Or you can book a home or office visit and a trained phlebotomist will come to you. The draw takes about 10 minutes. Same accredited lab. Same results. Locations and availability are shown at the booking step. We're expanding coverage — if your area isn't yet served, the home visit option closes the gap.

How long does the whole process take?

The blood draw itself takes 10 to 15 minutes. Results arrive in your inbox within 7 days of the draw. Your Clariti summary arrives at the same time — no second appointment needed to understand what the results mean. From deciding to book to having your results in hand: about a week and a half, total.

Question 6

Do I need to fast before my blood draw?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for most panels.An overnight fast of 8 to 12 hours is required for accurate glucose and lipid readings — the two most important markers in most panels. Water is fine during the fast. Tea and coffee are not (even without sugar). Your confirmation email will specify exactly what's needed for your chosen panel. Book a morning slot if you can — fasting overnight is easier than trying to fast through the afternoon.

Can I take my medication before the test?

For most medications, yes — continue as normal unless your doctor has told you otherwise.Do not stop any prescribed medication without medical advice. Tell the phlebotomist which medications you're currently taking at the time of your draw. This information goes on your file and helps contextualise any values that might be affected by medication. It does not affect the draw itself.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring a valid photo ID (national ID, passport, or driver's licence) and your booking confirmation — either printed or on your phone. Wear clothing with easy access to your inner arm. If you have previous lab results you'd like the phlebotomist to note for context, bring those too. They won't affect the draw but can be useful when you're reviewing your Clariti summary later.

Can I be screened if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes — the Fertility & Maternity panel is specifically designed for women who are trying to conceive, currently pregnant, or in the postpartum period. Reference ranges differ during pregnancy and Clariti will account for that context. If you're pregnant and considering another panel, let us know when you book. We'll confirm whether any markers need to be interpreted differently for your stage of pregnancy.

How are my results delivered?

You receive two things in your inbox within 7 days of your draw: theraw lab PDF— the accredited result document from the laboratory — and yourClariti summary— a plain-English explanation of what your results actually mean. Your results go to you and no one else. Not to your employer, not to your GP, not to anyone. You decide who to share them with.

Clariti is LifeVitals' results interpretation layer. It reads your lab results and translates them from clinical language into plain English — prioritised by what matters most, with specific next steps rather than vague recommendations. Instead of receiving a table of values with asterisks and reference ranges you need to Google, you receive something that reads like a note from a thoughtful doctor who had time to explain things. What was flagged. Why it was flagged. What to do about it in the next week. Clariti is not a diagnosis.It is interpretation and guidance. For any clinical decision, you should consult a qualified medical professional — but Clariti gives you the information you need to have that conversation with confidence.

What if my results come back with something flagged?

A flagged result is not an emergency announcement — it's information. Clariti will explain what was flagged, why it matters in your specific context, and what a reasonable next step looks like. Most flagged values are early signals — they point to something worth watching or addressing, not something that requires immediate hospitalisation. The value of catching them early is that you have time to act before a manageable issue becomes a difficult one. If a result raises genuine concern, our team is available on WhatsApp to help you understand it and, if needed, connect you with an appropriate healthcare professional.

Can I share my results with my doctor?

Yes — and we encourage it. The lab PDF you receive is a standard accredited document that any Jamaican doctor or specialist will recognise and can work from. It carries the laboratory's name, accreditation, and the phlebotomist's credentials. Clariti is not a replacement for a doctor. It's the bridge between your results and your next conversation. Many of our customers use their Clariti summary as the starting point for a GP visit — it makes the conversation more productive because you already know what questions to ask.

How often should I be screened?

Once a year is the baseline recommendation for most adults under 45 who are in generally good health. The real value of annual screening is the trend — a single result tells you where you are today; a second result a year later tells you whether things are moving in the right direction. For anyone over 45, anyone with a family history of chronic disease, or anyone with a flagged result from a previous screen, more frequent screening may be appropriate. Your Clariti summary will include a recommended retesting interval based on your specific results.

Who can see my results?

Accepted Answer

You. That's it, unless you choose to share them. Your results are delivered to the email address you registered with and are accessible in your LifeVitals account. No one else — not your employer, not your insurer, not your GP, not LifeVitals staff — has routine access to your individual results. If you share your results with someone — your doctor, a family member, your HR department — that's your choice to make. We don't facilitate it without your explicit action.

If my employer paid for my screening, can they see my results?

No.This is one of the rules we will not bend, and it's built into every corporate contract we sign. Your employer pays to make screening available to you. What your results say is between you and your healthcare provider. HR sees aggregate data only — and only for teams above a threshold size that prevents any individual from being identified. Individual results never reach the employer. This isn't just policy — it's the reason uptake in corporate programmes actually works. When employees know their employer can't see their results, they participate honestly. That's the only way the programme delivers real value to anyone.

Is LifeVitals compliant with Jamaica's Data Protection Act?

Yes. LifeVitals operates in full compliance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act 2020. Your data is stored in Jamaica. Your right to deletion is respected. The data terms in our contracts are counsel-reviewed. If you have specific questions about how your data is handled — retention periods, third-party processors, or your right to access your data — those are answered in our Privacy Policy or you can contact us directly.

Question 18

What happens to my results if I cancel my account?

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. We'll confirm deletion within 30 days and send you a confirmation email. Before you delete, we recommend downloading your result PDFs — once your account is deleted, those documents are no longer accessible through LifeVitals. The lab retains its own records per Jamaican laboratory regulations, but LifeVitals will have no copy.

What's included in every panel, at every price point: the accredited lab analysis, your secure PDF results, and your Clariti summary. You're not paying extra for the interpretation layer.

Question 20

Can I pay in USD, GBP, or CAD?

Yes. If you're booking a panel for yourself or gifting one for someone in Jamaica from overseas, we accept payment in USD, GBP, CAD, and JMD. The currency is selected at checkout. This is especially relevant for the diaspora gift flow — you can pay from anywhere in the world and the appointment and draw happen here in Jamaica.

What's your refund policy?

If you need to cancel before your draw, you can reschedule at no charge or receive a full refund — provided you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment are not eligible for a refund but can be rescheduled once. After the draw, the panel has been processed and refunds are not available. Does health insurance cover LifeVitals screenings?

Coverage depends entirely on your insurer and your plan. Some Jamaican health insurance plans cover preventive screening; many do not. We are not able to bill insurers directly — payment is made at booking and you receive an invoice you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement if your plan allows it. Check with your insurer before booking if reimbursement is important to you. The accredited lab PDF we provide is the documentation most insurers require.

What is the minimum team size for a corporate programme?

The minimum for a group corporate contract is 10 employees. Below that, individual panel bookings at a group rate is the conversation to have — contact us and we'll work something out. For tech companies and small agencies who want to offer screening as a benefit to a team of under 10, there's a flexible option available. Reach out directly.

Can the screening be done on-site at our office?

Yes. For corporate programmes, on-site draws are available — a trained phlebotomist comes to your office on a scheduled day and employees book individual slots. This dramatically improves participation rates because it removes every logistical barrier. The minimum for a dedicated on-site visit is typically 20 employees. Smaller teams can split the cost of an on-site visit or use our partner collection centres.

What panels do you offer for corporate programmes?

Three panels are available for corporate programmes:Essentials (the right starting point for most teams), Immunity & Inflammation (for teams under sustained pressure, high-output environments, or elevated absenteeism), and Cardiovascular Health (for senior leadership, managers over 35, and key-person risk management). Companies are free to choose which panel — or combination — to offer. We don't prescribe which panel is right for your team without a conversation first.

Can our HR team see employees' individual results?

No. Individual results go to the employee only. HR sees aggregate data — and only for groups above a threshold that prevents any individual from being identified. This is non-negotiable and written into every corporate contract. This is also why uptake works. When employees know their employer can't see their results, they participate. When they're not sure, they don't. The privacy model is the product.
